Changing License Key from Evaluation Key to Purchased Key

You may have an interest in Visual Paradigm’s product(s) after evaluation and purchase our product(s). Once you have submitted your purchase order, we will send you a temporary purchased license key which lasts for 15 days. After the payment approved, a permanent purchased license key will send to you accordingly.

You can follow the steps below to register your tool with the (temporary) purchased license key upon receiving the (temporary) purchased key.

1. Exit all running instances of Visual Paradigm’s products.
2. Remove all existing license keys in one of the two ways:
   • Using the License Key Manager
     1. Launch one of the Visual Paradigm’s products, such as Visual Paradigm for UML (VP-UML).
     2. Activate the License Key Manager by selecting Tools > Key Manager... from the menu.
        Note: For any integration version of Visual Paradigm’s products, such as SDE for Eclipse and DBVA for NetBeans etc, select either Modeling > Key Manager... or Tools > Key Manager... from the menu to activate the Key Manager.
        
        
        
     3. License Key Manager dialog box shows, select License Keys > Remove All Keys from the menu.
        
        
        
   • Removing the License Key Repository Directory
     1. Go to the home directory, there is a .vplls folder which is the license key repository of Visual Paradigm’s products.
        
        
        
     2. Delete the .vplls directory manually which will remove all existing license keys.
3. Restart the purchased tool, such as VP-UML, the License Key Manager dialog box shows.
   
   
   
4. Click the Import license key icon to open the Import License Key dialog box.
   
   
   
5. Select the license key to be imported, and click Import.
   
   
   The license key which is successfully imported shows on the the License key Manager. The purchased license key does not show the expiry date in the License Key Manager.
   
   
   
6. Click Close to exit the License Key Manager. The word (Evaluation Copy) is removed from the application once the product is registered with the purchased license key.
   
   
   

Note: If you have purchased one of the Visual Paradigm’s products while the other tools are under evaluation period, please remove the particular evaluation key of the purchased tool from the key manager.
