Migrating to New Teamwork Server

The following steps show you how to migrate the existing projects from the running teamwork server to a new teamwork server.

Let us assume the current running teamwork server is Teamwork Server 2.0 located
at C:\Program Files\Teamwork Server 2.0 which has three projects in the repository.

  1. Install the new Teamwork Server 2.1 to your machine by specifying a different location with respect to the existing one, such as C:\Program Files\Teamwork Server 2.1.

    Note: Please make sure the Teamwork Server 2.0 is shutted down before installing the new Teamwork Server 2.1.

    During the installation, you can select the Installation Type, either Server and Admin, Server Only and Admin Only. If one of the admin modules is selected, the Teamwork Administrator will launch automatically when the installation is completed, exit the Teamwork Administrator directly.

    Moreover, during the installation, you are allowed to specify the repository path, please make sure the name of the repository folder is as same as that of the current teamwork server.

  2. After the installation of Teamwork Server 2.1 is complete, copy the Repository folder from the
    %Teamwork_Server_2.0_Installation_directory% folder, and replace the repository to the %Teamwork server 2.1 Installation Directory%.

    Note: The repository path is specified in the repository.config file located in the installation directory, you can confirm the path if necessary. By default, it is specified as %Teamwork Server Installation Directory%/repository.

  3. Execute the StartTeamworkServer.exe to start the teamwork server.

    The existing projects are migrated to the new teamwork server automatically.
