Showing Tagged Values on Diagram

A tagged value is a combination of a tag and a value that gives supplementary information to the model element it is attaching to. A tagged value can be used to add properties to any model elements and can be applied to a model element or a stereotype.

Besides defining tagged values, an option is provided to let you decide whether to make them visible on the diagram.

Defining a tagged value

Defining tagged values on a model

  1. Right click on the Class, select Open Specification.


  2. Switch to the Tagged Values Tab in the Class Specification dialog.
  3. Press Add button and select Text.


  4. Enter the Tag name and value, and press OK to Exit

Defining tagged values on a stereotype

  1. Right click on the Class, select Stereotype > Stereotypes....


  2. Select Edit Stereotypes in the Stereotype tab of the Class Specification dialog.


  3. To create a new stereotype, press Add button on the Configure Stereotypes dialog.

    To edit a stereotype, select a stereotype and press Edit... button.

  4. Switch to the Tagged Value Definitions tab in the Stereotype Specification dialog.
  5. Press Add button and select Text Tag.


  6. Enter the Tag name and value, and press OK to Exit.


  7. To apply the stereotype, press > button to select the stereotype and press OK to exit the Class Specification dialog.

Showing the tagged value

  1. Here is a class Book with a stereotype Author. You can see there are Tagged Values defined for both the stereotype and the class. By default, the tagged values will not appear on the diagram.


  2. To show the tagged values. Right click on the diagram, select Persentation Options > Show Tagged Values from the popup menu.


  3. The Tagged Values are show on the diagram, inside the model shape.
